The 2025 Bentley Bentayga Speed has been unveiled as the British manufacturer’s most powerful SUV to date. This latest version replaces the previous model’s W12 engine with a smaller, more efficient V8, contributing to a significant reduction in overall weight. Bentley asserts that the new Bentayga Speed offers increased power, improved acceleration, and a higher top speed than its predecessor.
- Weight has been decreased by 42kg, bringing the kerb weight to 2,466kg.
- The primary factor for this weight reduction is the adoption of the smaller V8 engine.
- The Lamborghini Urus SE and Aston Martin DBX 707 compete with the Bentayga Speed.
Performance: 0-100 KPH and Top Speed
Accelerates to 100 KPH in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 310 KPH
At the heart of the 2025 Bentley Bentayga Speed is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. This setup delivers an impressive 650 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. The Bentayga Speed can go from 0 to 100 KPH in just 3.6 seconds, reaching a remarkable top speed of 310 KPH. In comparison to the former model’s 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine, which produced 635 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque, the new V8 not only provides an additional 15 horsepower but also offers a slightly lower torque figure. The V8 also shows better acceleration, improving upon the W12’s 3.9-second 0 to 100 KPH time and achieving a top speed of 306 KPH. A standard sports exhaust system is included, and there is an optional Akrapovic titanium exhaust for those seeking enhanced performance and sound.
The new Bentayga Speed also boasts a reduced kerb weight of 2,466 kg, largely attributed to the smaller engine. Bentley engineers have refined the driving modes, introducing a Sport mode that enhances the stiffness of the dampers by 15% and adjusts the electronic stability control (ESC) for better drift capability. The rear-wheel steering feature aids in both low-speed maneuvers and high-speed stability.
