After a few weekends with different victors, Marc Marquez and Ducati have returned to their winning form in 2025. The Spanish rider showcased his prowess by leading every session during the latest race weekend, securing victories in both the Sprint race and the main event at Aragon, the venue where he celebrated his maiden win with Ducati last year.

  1. Marc now occupies the top position in the standings ahead of his brother, Alex.
  2. Bagnaia shows improvement but still trails Marquez by 93 points.

Marc Marquez and Ducati Back to Winning Ways

Victorious in Both Races, Marc Extends Championship Lead

Marc made an impressive start in the main race, maintaining his lead throughout and crossing the finish line with a comfortable two-second advantage over his younger brother Alex. The Sprint race, however, was a bit more challenging. At the start, Marc faced wheelspin, dropping to third place and briefly engaging in a battle with KTM’s Pedro Acosta. Nevertheless, he quickly regained control and pulled away from the rest of the competitors, ultimately solidifying his position. His dominant display this weekend has allowed him to increase his lead over Alex to a substantial 32 points.

Bagnaia on the Podium Again

Bagnaia Finishes Third in the Main Race; Technical Adjustments Boost Confidence

While Marc Marquez’ performance has been consistently dominant this season, his teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, has struggled to adapt to the GP25 Ducati. He expressed difficulty achieving the same front-end feel as the previous GP24 model. After qualifying in fourth place, Bagnaia had a disappointing Sprint race, finishing in 12th position, well outside the points.

However, the weekend turned positive for Bagnaia with a technical adjustment made on Sunday morning that helped restore his confidence. Although he couldn’t match Alex Marquez’s pace, he maintained his performance throughout the race, ultimately finishing in a podium position. Reports suggest that the switch to larger front brake discs provided Bagnaia with the confidence needed to tackle the braking zones effectively.

2025 MotoGP Standings

Marc and Alex Lead the Standings; Bagnaia’s Deficit Widens

Thanks to his consecutive wins over the weekend, Marc’s lead over his brother Alex has surged to 32 points. In contrast, Bagnaia now finds himself 93 points behind Marc, which is a notable numeric coincidence, and is actually closer to fourth-placed Morbidelli than to Alex in second place. The next race is scheduled for the weekend of June 20-22 at the Mugello circuit in Italy.
