The Tata Altroz facelift is now available for purchase, showcasing a sharper design, an updated interior, an expanded features list, and the same set of powertrains. It stands out as one of the select premium hatchbacks offered in India, alongside competitors such as the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Let’s take a closer look at how the refreshed Altroz compares with its rivals in terms of pricing, dimensions, and powertrain options.

2025 Tata Altroz facelift dimensions vs rivals
Altroz has smallest wheelbase, but is the tallest overall
The Altroz facelift’s dimensions remain unchanged at 3,990mm in length, 1,755mm in width, and 1,523mm in height, with a 2,501mm wheelbase. Its length matches that of both the Baleno and Glanza, while the i20 has a slight edge with an additional 5mm. 2025 Tata Altroz facelift engine and gearbox vs rivals
Altroz has the most diverse assortment of powertrains on offer
The Altroz facelift offers a distinct advantage over its competitors by providing petrol, diesel, and CNG variants. It is the only hatchback in India currently offering a diesel option. Among the 1.2-liter petrol engines, both the Baleno and Glanza deliver the highest power output at 90hp, with the Altroz trailing slightly at 88hp and the i20 at 83hp. The torque outputs are also closely matched, with the Altroz ahead at 115Nm, followed by the i20 at 114.7Nm, and both Baleno and Glanza at 113Nm.
The i20 has an added attraction for drivers looking for a more dynamic experience, thanks to its N Line variants, which feature a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 120hp and 172Nm. This is noteworthy since the previous Altroz model also included a sporty Racer trim with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol that produced 120hp and 170Nm. However, it remains unclear if the new Altroz will feature a Racer trim or the turbo-petrol engine.
Both i20 and Altroz facelift offer dual-clutch transmissions
Regarding gearbox options, both the Altroz facelift and the i20 provide the most diverse selections. The Tata hatchback includes a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed AMT (petrol only), and a 6-speed DCT (available only on the top-spec variant), while the Hyundai offers a 5-speed manual, CVT auto, 6-speed manual, and 7-speed DCT, with the latter two being exclusive to the N Line variants. On the other hand, the Baleno and Glanza come equipped with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
