Hero’s Strategy for Increased Volume in the Electric Two-Wheeler Market
To boost its presence and capture a larger share of the electric two-wheeler market, Hero MotoCorp is preparing to launch two cost-effective electric two-wheelers within the first half of FY2026, tentatively in July.
Earlier this year, a report from our associated publication, Autocar Professional, hinted at the development of a new model under the initiative named ACPD. This initiative is expected to lower the pricing even further, aiming to compete with conventional scooters in price.
Currently, Hero MotoCorp is producing approximately 7,000 electric vehicles every month. With the models including the Vida V2 and the forthcoming lower-cost version under the ACPD project, the company targets a total production of 13,000 to 15,000 units monthly, with ambitions to increase to 20,000 units by the festive season of 2025, as per internal sources.
