The Concept RR as a Foretaste of BMW’s Next-Gen High-Performance RR Series
The Concept RR serves as a technical and design beacon, heavily inspired by BMW’s factory racing program and indicating the future trajectory of the brand’s design and engineering ethos.
This innovative model is built on the robust foundation of the BMW M 1000 RR, the motorcycle that led the brand to its recent triumph in the FIM World Superbike Championship. Featuring an inline-four, water-cooled engine hailing from the WSBK race bike, it boasts an impressive output of over 230 horsepower. The engine is equipped with electronic systems, such as race-grade traction control, engine braking management, and mapping — all adapted and fine-tuned through BMW’s motorsport expertise.
A core aspect of the Concept RR is its ultra-lightweight design. The structure and body form heavily utilize carbon fiber and aluminum. BMW emphasizes that every component is meticulously crafted for optimal performance, from the streamlined subframe to the precisely machined aluminum tail, which showcases an embossed and illuminated RR logo underneath.
Aerodynamic efficacy has been a pivotal point during the development of the Concept RR. BMW engineers assert that they have crafted a design that minimizes external attachments while featuring functional airflow channels that traverse the bike from front to back. The fairing is equipped with winglets designed to enhance stability at high speeds and generate downforce while cornering, and the rear end is aerodynamically refined to achieve minimal drag and peak top speeds.
The BMW Motorrad Concept RR stands as a clear statement of the brand’s future directions in design and engineering.
