Suzuki GSX-8R: What’s Changed?
No Changes to Price, Hardware, or Features
The primary update for the 2025 Suzuki GSX-8R is its compliance with OBD-2B regulations, ensuring adherence to the latest government-mandated emission standards. This transition allows the bike to maintain its performance excellence and refinement while meeting environmental requirements.
Powered by a 776cc parallel-twin engine, the GSX-8R produces 83hp at 8,500rpm and 78Nm of torque at 6,800rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed transmission, complete with a bi-directional quickshifter. Additional features include a ride-by-wire throttle, three traction control settings, dual-channel ABS, and three distinct riding modes. Built on a robust steel frame, the GSX-8R utilizes a USD fork and a monoshock suspension system from Showa. Braking is effectively managed with dual front discs and a single rear disc, while it rides on 17-inch wheels outfitted with Dunlop RoadSport 2 radial tyres.
At its price point of Rs 9.25 lakh, the GSX-8R is positioned as a comfort-oriented alternative to more aggressive supersport models within the segment. Its key competitors include the Triumph Daytona 660, Kawasaki’s Ninja ZX4R, Ninja 650, and the Aprilia RS 660.
