Ather Rizta sales cross 1 lakh mark in less than one year

Ather Energy’s family electric scooter, the Rizta, which launched on April 6, 2024, and began deliveries in July of the same year, has achieved sales of over 1 lakh units in India. With total sales reaching 99,691 units between July 2024 and April 2025, Ather needed to sell only 309 units in May 2025 to reach this milestone, which was accomplished within the first few days of the month.

A Family-Oriented EV with Shared Components

In the first nine months of FY2025 (July 2024 – March 2025), Ather sold 89,639 Rizta e-scooters, representing 58 percent of the EV startup’s sales for the fiscal year. The total sales for FY25 reached a record high of 155,405 units. With these figures, the Rizta emerged as Ather’s best-selling product, surpassing the 450X (44,391 units, 28 percent), the 450S (18,999 units, 12 percent), and the 450 Apex (2,376 units, 1.5 percent).

Marketed as a family-friendly scooter, the Rizta signifies a strategic shift for Ather Energy. It was designed and developed with practicality in mind, aiming to compete with models such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Hero Vida. Key features include the largest two-wheeler seat in India, ample storage space, and a range of user-friendly functionalities.
