The smooth 948cc, four-cylinder engine has been retained and now meets Euro5+ emission standards. In complying with stricter regulations, the engine has slightly lowered its peak performance. The 2024 model produced 125hp and 98.6Nm, while the 2025 version now generates 124hp and 97.4Nm, with peak figures achieved at the same RPM. For the first time since its debut, the Z900 incorporates ride-by-wire technology, allowing the inclusion of additional electronic features.

Turning to electronic aids, the 2025 Z900 introduces standard features such as cruise control and a bidirectional quickshifter, which were absent in the 2024 model. Other riding aids like power modes, riding modes, traction control, and dual-channel ABS are preserved but now operate with IMU assistance. These functions are managed through a new 5-inch color TFT display, utilizing switchgear shared with other Kawasaki models, including the Ninja 1100SX.

Enhanced cycle components for the 2025 model
The 2025 Z900 also showcases upgraded cycle parts, including superior tyres and braking systems. It now features radially-mounted Nissin four-piston calipers for enhanced braking performance, replacing the vertically mounted units from the previous version. Additionally, the 2025 model is equipped with Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres, an upgrade from the standard Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 found on the older model.
