2025 Land Rover Defender Exterior Updates

New color choices, optional accessories, and wheel designs

Identifying the updates on the new Defender may prove challenging; however, they are present in the form of redesigned headlamps and tail lamps. The headlamps now feature a smaller central LED DRL section, while the tail lamps sport a smoked tint. Fog lamps are now standard equipment. Additionally, there’s a new gloss black trim across the grille, with front and rear bumpers available in either silver or satin grey.

A new textured finish adorns the bonnet and fender inserts. The wheel center caps are now labeled ‘Defender’ instead of ‘Land Rover’, while new 22-inch seven-spoke alloy wheels and fresh color options, including a Patagonia White Matte wrap exclusive to the Octa and all V8 models, have been introduced.

On the accessory front, the Defender is now offered with a new expedition roof rack, crossbars, and underbody protection. The Octa variant also allows for the installation of a 4,500 kg-rated winch complete with a carbon fiber cover. For the Defender 130, an integrated air compressor option is available for adjusting tire pressures during off-road adventures.

Larger touchscreen and a new driver attention monitor

Inside, a notable highlight is the new 13.1-inch touchscreen, which replaces the previous 11.4-inch unit, effectively filling the gap between the center console and the top of the dashboard.

A driver-facing infrared camera has been integrated into the steering column to monitor driver attentiveness, aligning with the European Union’s GSR2 regulations. This system provides audio or visual alerts if the driver exhibits inattentiveness and can be adjusted or disabled via the driver assistance settings in the infotainment system. Additionally, the Defender now offers an off-road adaptive cruise control feature as an optional extra, available for the first time.

In India, the Defender offers five engine choices: a 2.0-liter petrol, a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid, a 3.0-liter diesel, a 5.0-liter V8, and a 4.4-liter V8. The updates to both the exterior and interior will be applied across all Defender variants.
