New Hero Vida electric scooters launching on July 1

Upcoming Launch Details

Hero has announced the upcoming launch of a new Vida electric scooter in India, set to take place on July 1. This initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to expanding its electric vehicle offerings in the Indian market.

Positioning and Model Insights

  1. Likely to be positioned below Vida V2: The new model is expected to be economically priced, making it accessible to a broader audience.
  2. Could be based on Vida Z showcased at EICMA 2024: Insights suggest that the upcoming model may share design elements with the Vida Z, which was recently showcased in Italy.

Details on the New E-Scooter

Hero introduced the updated Vida V2 lineup in December 2024 and is now gearing up for the launch of additional electric scooters. Recently, company officials mentioned in an earnings call that they intend to launch two new affordable electric scooters in July. The company has further shared an invitation for the Vida launch event on July 1.

Specifications and Expectations

Information surrounding these new scooters remains sparse, and it’s unclear if there will be two distinct models or variants of a single model. However, the incoming Vida electric scooter is anticipated to sport a unique design theme akin to that of the Vida Z presented at EICMA 2024.

The existing Vida V2 range offers three variants: V2 Pro, V2 Plus, and V2 Lite, all featuring different battery capabilities, performance metrics, and feature compositions. Currently, the scooters are available at competitive prices on the Vida website, with the V2 Lite retailing at approximately Rs 74,000 (ex-showroom Delhi), after factoring in subsidies and dealer discounts.

It remains to be seen whether the new offerings will further reduce the already aggressive price point of the Vida series, as Hero aims to narrow the gap between conventional petrol scooters and electric alternatives.
