Overview of the Ultraviolette Shockwave
The Ultraviolette Shockwave is an agile, dirt-focused electric motorcycle anticipated to launch in 2026. Recent patent images indicate that the final production model will closely resemble the striking prototype unveiled earlier this year.
Design Features
- Sleek and Minimalistic Look: The Shockwave retains a streamlined design that emphasizes simplicity and elegance.
- Weight and Speed: It is expected to weigh approximately 120 kg and achieve a top speed of 120 km/h.
Shockwave Design Elements
The design of the Shockwave prototype is nearly identical to the previously showcased model, with minor adjustments. Notably, the fork shrouds are absent in the patent image, although this may be due to the angle of the photograph. Evidence suggests that these components could still be integrated, as the front brake disc shroud from the concept is present.
Additionally, the image does not show the brake lever protector, which could potentially be offered as an optional accessory. A solid windscreen is visible, but the headlamps are not. This windscreen resembles the rally-style component from the prototype that was paired with vertically stacked LED projector headlamps. The original prototype also featured a well-crafted aluminum tower supporting the headlamps and windscreen, which is hoped to be included in the production model.
Battery, Range, and Performance Metrics
While not all specifications are disclosed yet, the Ultraviolette Shockwave will be equipped with a 4 kWh battery pack and a mid-mounted electric motor. This setup is expected to produce a peak output of 14.5 horsepower and an impressive 505 Nm of torque at the rear wheel, calculated considering the final drive gearing.
The manufacturer claims a top speed of 120 km/h and a remarkable 0-60 km/h acceleration time of 2.9 seconds, indicating exhilarating performance at lower speeds. The bike’s attractive 120 kg kerb weight enhances its overall appeal, although the seat height specifications have yet to be announced.
As a dirt bike featuring a long flat seat, the Shockwave is likely to have a relatively tall seat height. However, the choice of 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels will aid in maintaining manageable proportions compared to the typical 21/18 configuration.
Price Expectations
The current ex-showroom price for the Shockwave is set at Rs 1.75 lakh. Notably, the first 2000 customers who pre-booked the bike secured it for Rs 1.5 lakh. The Shockwave is projected to be available for sale in the first half of 2026.
