The VF7 captured at Mumbai is adorned with the brand’s Jet Black paint finish. The vehicle’s design showcases the front-end, alloy wheels, and front door. In comparison to the model exhibited at Auto Expo 2025, which featured a Crimson Red finish with 20-inch alloy wheels and low-profile Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres, this spied version sports redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with 245/50 R19 Apollo Aspire tyres. The smaller wheel size is a thoughtful modification for the Indian market to enhance ride comfort.

From the spy images, some advanced features can be identified, including a camera-based Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite and a camera mounted on the wing mirror, suggesting a 360-degree camera capability. The upper edge of a large touchscreen infotainment system is also visible, although it is yet to be determined whether it is the larger 15-inch version or the smaller 12.9-inch model.

The VinFast VF7 is expected to be available in India in two variants: Eco and Plus, both powered by a 75.3kWh battery pack. The Eco variant features a single motor setup yielding 204hp and 310Nm of torque at the front axle, while the Plus variant boasts a dual-motor setup generating a combined 354hp and 500Nm of torque. VinFast claims a WLTP range of 450km for the Eco and 431km for the Plus variant.

Set to launch around October this year, the VinFast VF7 is likely to compete with the BYD Atto 3, which is priced between Rs 24.99 lakh and Rs 33.99 lakh and offers battery options of 49.92kWh (468km ARAI range) and 60.48kWh (521km ARAI range). Additionally, since the VF7 will be locally assembled at the new factory in Tamil Nadu, it is anticipated that the e-SUV will be priced within the Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh range. The brand is also exploring a battery leasing option to lower the initial purchase cost, akin to MG Motor India’s Battery-as-a-Service rental scheme.
