Hyundai is preparing to expand its premium offerings in India with the anticipated arrival of the Palisade SUV in 2028. Similar to the Hyundai Bayon, the Palisade represents another global model that the company intends to introduce in India as part of an ambitious plan to launch 26 new products by 2030. While the Bayon aims to compete with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, the Palisade will establish itself as Hyundai’s flagship SUV for the Indian market.

Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Powertrain Details
1,015km Claimed Driving Range

The Palisade introduces Hyundai’s next-generation hybrid powertrain, available with either a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol or a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine. Given the size of the Palisade, it will feature the 2.5-litre engine that produces a combined output of 334hp and 460Nm of torque, with a claimed fuel efficiency of 14.1 km/l and a total driving range of 1,015 km.
Hyundai asserts that compared to a standalone 2.5-litre petrol engine, the hybrid configuration improves efficiency by 45%, boosts power by 19%, and increases peak torque by 9%. Notably, the Palisade is also offered with a 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine in international markets, but it is expected to be available solely with the hybrid option in India.
Standard features include a 6-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive as an upgrade. Additionally, the Palisade provides three drive modes—Eco, Sport, and My Drive—as well as three terrain modes: Mud, Snow, and Sand.
Hybrid Setup Enhances Ride Quality and Handling

The hybrid powertrain significantly enhances the vehicle’s dynamics, introducing an electrically-controlled ride comfort system known as ‘e-Comfort Drive,’ which minimizes vertical movement over bumps and controls body motion during acceleration.
Moreover, the ‘e-Dynamic Drive’ system improves handling by incorporating three features: e-DTVC (which applies torque vectoring during cornering to reduce understeer), e-EHA (which maximizes grip during sudden steering to prevent skidding), and e-Handling (which dynamically adjusts torque during turns to maintain traction and stability).
